Brann Fizzard (He/It,They)Brann is an interdisciplinary artist, Illustrator and ‘Maker’, whose work explores themes of identity, queerness and psychology through the lenses of folklore and the natural sciences. Brann uses his own lived experience and the experiences of his community to explore what it means to be trans and to exist in societies that deem you as "other", while proudly reclaiming that otherness for yourself. His work draws inspiration from art history, music, pop culture and film to help define his alternative, gothic visual style.Their pieces vary in media to fit the context of the work, often taking the forms of illustration (digital and traditional), printmaking, mixed media sculpture and costuming. Brann also creates a selection of apparel, patches and stationary, along with his prints and original paintings.He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland & Labrador in 2020. He has shown his work in galleries locally and globally, as well as worked on a variety of collaborative Animations, and Zines online.CV available upon request.
